'How about Orchard and Sidwell?'


They were the only things that got a little cheesy at times. Otherwise, solid, underrated film. May be David Ayer's best script. And of course, Kurt Russell is on fire in this. Man, did he ever deserve more recognition for this role.

I'm really pissed this film seems to have just disappeared. I'm glad I bought a copy back in '04. I'd seen it at some point in mid-2003 after it came out on video. It had the feel of something that could probably be direct-to-video but I think it made it to the multiplexes. I don't understand why some other films from the 02-04 time period are still being regarded as modern classics at the decade mark but I'd bet hardly anybody remembers this one now.

Tombstone is my dad's favorite movie so I've always been a little tempted to make him watch Kurt in this too, but I'm worried that since it's not a western it may not go over as well.
