I posted this on the 'Gettysburg' board too:

I don't think Harrison is in the theatrical version at all. In the Director's cut version (that one day should be released) Harrison is depicted performing in a play with John Wilkes Booth. Booth had a much larger subplot in the screenplay that was completely cut out theatrically. Chamberlain (with his wife) is depicted meeting Booth after a performance. Also, Lincoln is shown at the play that Harrison and Booth are performing in.

Having just watchd the trailer earlier today, I do recall a shot of chamberlain and his wife attending the theater, and a shot of Lincoln getting out of a carriage. I would have liked to have see the origin of harrison and a relationship with JLB. Ah, the things we'll never see.

Yes, I have a making of 'Gods and Generals' that is different from all the other 'official' making of 'Gods and Generals' and it has an interview with the actor playing Booth and shows them filming a scene depicting Booth signing autographs for admiring young ladies after a performance. The actor (I'll eventually find out his name) really seemed like he was putting quite a bit into his performance of Booth from remarks he made in the interview so it seems a real shame that his work as Booth was totally cut out of the picture.

They really need to release this stuff on DVD. I want to see the 'Director's cut' of 'Gods and Generals' and 'The Alamo'. I think that these could have really helped these respective films like the longer version of Ridley Scott's 'Kingdom of Heaven'.
