Film does not get enough credit

Despite the fact that it isn't for a mainstream audience, I think this is probably the best representation of the Civil War in any movie ever made.

Gettysburg was good too, but I think that this movie did the battles a lot better, and did a good job of showing the start of the war and how everyone ended up where they did.

I have heard this was adapted from a book, and that it strayed from it--but I think this is one film where it wouldnt have really mattered either way.

A huge percentage of people gave this movie 1,2, or 3 as a rating---that shows that the rating is skewed a lot. If you dont like this kind of realistic war genre, and if you cant sit still in your seat--you shouldnt hate a movie--you just shouldnt watch it to begin with.

WTF are you talking about. This is a pretty bad movie. You would think it was made by two completely different directors.

This movie had NOTHING to do with the book. And even then, it didn't even include the most important parts of the book and substituted them for scenes the director wrote on his own.

which is not very much.

Good book; not a very good movie.

I run this place- ME! I say what goes and what don't go!

This film is so bad I couldn't finish watching it. It's an abortion.
