If I watch a film about a civil war I dont wan't to watch hours of the characters sitting in bed with their wives talking about their fear. It makes me pretty annoyed that men who are so feminized that they think this is good are the ones who get to be directors.
shareI have watched the first half of the DVD, and seen relatively little of men with their wives, just a little of Jackson and Chamberlain with theirs. Such scenes help us to get to know a little of what makes them tick.
My chief beef so far is the way in which we leap from First Manassas to Fredericksburg, without seeing any of the Shenandoah Campaign (Jackson's finest hour), Second Manassas or Antietam.
Perhaps the rest of the DVD shall have more men "in bed with their wives?"
