Great show, so why'd it end?

I'm not a regular watcher of Adult Swim now but when I did Home Movies, Sealab 2021, and The Brak Show came on quite alot.
Now it's just a bunch of anime it seems like.
Those shows were really good so why don't they come on as often or why don't some of them even come on at all?!

Those shows were all made by different people and ended for different reasons.

In the case of "Sealab 2021," the folks at 70-30 just felt like they were about done with the show. Adult Swim were reportedly willing to go for more episodes, but 70-30 decided to end it on a high note while they could. They were anxious to move onto their next project, which turned out to be "Frisky Dingo."

Ah, I see.
Still, I miss the old Adult Swim;
maybe around 2001-2002, somewhere around there.

They still play Sealab 2021, The Brak Show, and Home Movies pretty frequently on Sunday nights. Saturday has become the new anime day. If you havn't watched Adult Swim in a while you might want to check out the website and get the schedule of shows. The way it pretty much works now is...

Monday - Thursday
10:30pm - 2am (Replays 2am-5:30am)

Saturday (Anime Day)
I forget the exact times, I tend not to watch on Saturdays

Sunday (New Episodes)
10pm-2am (Replays 2am-6am)

another reason why it was cancelled was that the guy that played cpt. murphy died

reply

Yeah but he died fairly early into the third season. They sent his character to war and replaced him with Tornado Shanks (voiced by Murphey's voice actor's son). The still had another season and a half without problems. I remember reading (maybe on IMDB) that they were picked up for a fifth season but the creators of the show felt they were done with the series. They didn't want to make it too long and end up ruining the show and they had other ideas for series (read: Frisky Dingo).

Thank you. The truth shall be known.

This show was CRAP without Harry Goz, or his character. I still wince when I watch the episodes from Season 3 that don't have him in them. To me, this show died with Captain Murphy.

there were still some great episodes with capt. shanks, like the one with the extreme rebel trillionaire. I love the "buy, sell, buy sell!" bit, and im always going "whip-cracka!"

But really never was the same after Harry Goz passed away. When Harry was on, I thought Sealab was one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. Capt. Murphy has to go down as the most under-rated funny character in t.v history.
