What band performs the them song?

Calamine. Says so in the credits.

More specifically, it was by Julie Stepanek of the band Calamine.

I'm so confused, because last nite I was watching an episode and Gush was listed as singing the theme song in the credits...? does anyone know why?

Gush does the opening credits, not the opening theme -- they're responsible for the film strip-esque opening title sequence, and Julie Stepanek wrote and performed the song. I'm pretty sure Gush is an animation unit.

calamine is freakin' awesome. trampoline is probably my favorite.
