I just finished reading the classic book Sphere by Michael Crichton, which is a really good thriller. From start to finish all I could think of was the book reminded me of something but I didn't know what. So I saw an episode of Sealab after I read it and it all made sense. Now I know where the show gets its influence from. Sealab is funny as it is, but read Sphere and you will piss yourself almost every episode from all the book references.
shareI read Sphere way back about 8-9 years ago now, and I can see some obvious comparissons- the under water labratory, but was sealab 2020 out before Sphere was written? Either way Sphere is great, movie isn't awful- seems like people love it or hate it, obviously the book is MUCH better.
shareAgree. Sphere and Sealab are not the same. Simply underwater. Try Sphere's audiobook also. Gives a different perspective when read by a professional. I love Sealab 2020 and love Sealab 2021; they are different creatures.
