Sealab 2020, back in the day....
So, had any fans of Sealab 2021 seen the original series, Sealab 2020? I used to watch it when I was very young, back in the early 70s. I loved it as a kid, as it was one of the few true adventure shows left on Saturday morning, before the debut of the Superfriends (depending on your views of the Kroft shows). It was a great one for the imagination. Many years later, as an adult, I stumbled across a VHS of a couple of episodes. Didn't hold up particularly well (unlike Space Ghost) but it was beautifully designed by Alex Toth. I was surprised to see Ross Martin in it, as it never struck me that I was hearing the voice of Artemis Gordon, as a kid (though I don't think I saw the Wild Wild West until after Sealab 2020 was on).
I was always an animation fan so I stopped to take a look one night, while channel surfing, and came across Adult Swim, complete with Home Movies, Sealab 2021, the Brak Show, and maybe Cowboy Bebop (can't remember if that was the same night or later). Anyway, I laughed my head off watching 2021, both at the nostalgia and the jokes. Good stuff!
