i LOVE frisky dingo. i LOVE archer. i LOVE adam reed. then i find out about his first show and i promptly rush off and buy the first 2 seasons.
and i dunno. its ok. but mostly i just found it boring and unfunny. a huge letdown :(

It is a bit dry and falls flat compared to Frisky Dingo and Archer. It does have gems like Harry Goz as the clueless Captain Murphy, the sinister Sparks constantly plotting, and Erik Estrada with the CHiPs references. But yeah, you're right, for the most part, it was just okay. Back around 2000, it was unique and witty, but even back then; I still preferred Harvey Birdman.

i just watched the first season and the first two episodes of the 2nd season this show is fantastic i think its hilarious.

Yeah, I get to say that because the show is over and was ended with dignity unlike everything after it.
To each his own, I personally loved every episode of Sealab. It's one of the only shows that makes me laugh out loud.
I'll even go as far as saying this show paved the way for shows like Archer, and Frisky Dingo.

I'm browsing through several videos on Adult Swim and, I must say, this show is probably the most original animated series I've come across in a long time. It's the kind of show that makes you think "how the hell did this manage to get on television?" but in a good way, if that makes sense. If I were writing for a cartoon series, this is the kind of humor I'd want to emulate, but probably wouldn't in fear of it being immediately rejected.
However, one thing I've definitely noticed is that every episode of Sealab 2021 seems to have its own personality. And that's probably why the show managed to go on several seasons before it was canceled.
