He didn't just 'hit her'

Many people here are saying that she is a murderer because she killed a her husband, who 'hit her'.

First of all, he beat beat her several times and in one instance, broke her ribs. He also hurt his daughter.

Then he sent people after her. She tried to do the right thing and go to the police but the justice system (as it is wont to do) failed her. If she had him locked up, he would have gotten out and either beat her mercilessly or killed her. Then he would have had custody of Gracie and it wouldn't be long bbefore he was beating her too.

Many people have also argued that if he had killed while he was in her house, it would have been self-defense, but that implies that she should have waited until he tracked her down, and as we have seen, he doesn't work alone. He would have most likely brought along his friends: the same ones who came looking for her armed with knives.

It was an instance of kill or be killed, not just for her, but for her daughter. She took control of the situation and even tried to leave when she thought he was knocked out. She only killed him after he came at her again.

That man terrorized her and her daughter, beat her, went after her loved ones (threatened her father and waved a gun at her friends). Defining murder by the same constraints as the justice system that failed her is ridiculous. If one day you go to the cops and you say 'a sociopath is coming after me and my child and he has friends in high places' and they say 'We can't do anything to protect your family.' What would you do? Sit idly by, twiddle your thumbs and hope for the best?

It's funny, as in peculiar that you mention this. I do agree with you but our US justice system does not generally agree with this type of "personal justice". You may get rid of the problem and save yourself from being hit and basically save the life of yourself and that of your kids (which is worth a lot!). There was a documentary on HBO not that long ago on a woman who was beaten severely for years. If I remember correctly, she reported it to police many times. Many people saw her bruises. She killed her husband and is now serving many years in prison. There is a movement trying to free her, but I don't think it looks good. I'm sure there are more out there like her.

To each their own...opinion
