Bill Campbell as Mitch

I liked this film, but it was difficult accepting Billy Campbell as the villain. He's spent his career playing nice guys. But hey, there's nothing wrong with an actor wanting to broaden his horizons and take on diverse rolls.

Now that I think about it, he did actually play Ted Bundy in a TV movie once. He is indeed a fine actor.

He's a good actor, but I agree with you. He's hard to swallow as a villain. I watched the ending of this movie today when it came on TV. It's not nearly as bad as I remember it being, but it certainly isn't an award winner. Noah Wyle was another one that was hard to deal with as a bad guy.

Many of our murderers are good looking, nice guys. As Johnny Rivers stated in his song Secret Agent Man, a pretty face can hide an evil mind.

I agree that casting Bill Campbell as the villain is strange. Not because he's not a fine actor but because we're used to seeing him as the good guy. It's like Tom Hanks playing a truly evil man. It's weird. I was going to create my own post saying how weird it was to cast Bill Campbell, but then I saw this thread. :)

Dr. Kila Marr was right. Kill the Crystalline Entity.

At first I thought Bill Campbell was an odd choice as villain Mitch. But not only are bad people often covered with a handsome/beautiful/innocent face, but he is quite convincing as a bad guy.
I'd spent happy times watching him as usually-good-guy Rick on "Once and Again", and even there you could see that he as an actor could be 'very capable' as a bad guy. He had a strong intensity that could be evil or good.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

Bill Campbell is really good in this movie and he pulled off the psychotic husband perfectly.

Oh I guess I'm the only one who didn't find it weird then haha. The only other thing I saw him in was the show The 4400, where he played Jordan Collier. In the beginning of The 4400 he comes off as a manipulative man, so I thought he fit right in to this role. Also because he sounds very good as a smooth talker and that's what he does in this movie. I almost didn't recognize him though because in The 4400 he has a beard and mustache and in this movie he is clean-shaven.
