What was on the note?

When they are looking for a house and Mitch stops and asks the guy how much he'd be willing to sell it for, the guy says he is not selling. Then Mitch hands him a note. I always thought it was just an insanely high price that he was willing to spend that he wrote down, but at the same time it kind of seemed like maybe he wrote down some kind of threat, because of the look on the guy's face. If it was a price, why not just say it out loud? But I was just wondering what you guys thought or if maybe I missed something. I only watch it on tv and I don't know if maybe they cut something out or something. Thanks

Hmm, I always assumed it was the price, and the look on his face was just because of the high price/abrupt sales offer/crazy man standing on his doorstep threatening to stalk him till he sold his house. Lol.

Funny I always wondered the same thing. The first time I saw it I just thought it was the price too, but after watching it a few times it seams it may have been a threat.
They should have done a flashback scene showing us what was on the note or something so we know for sure.

The way the man half-smiled and said "You're out of your mind" made me think it was a price. Mitch did say "Here's the price" and "Don't worry, its well over market [value]." as he handed him the note too.

I think it was likely an outrageous sum, like a million dollars. It wasn't about the house per se, it was for control and power. Jerk Mitch wants what he wants. The man wasn't selling, yet he both charmed and threatened him verbally to sell it.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

I think the words he used were just for slim to hear,i think it had really low sum/threat and thats why the guy called him crazy and why he added what he said after to bring the threat home
