Film probably would have done alot better If they got someone like Megan Fox, Halle Berry or Charlene Theron to do the part.

Jennifer Lopez is not the best choice nor the best actress for many roles, but she was...OK here.
I think Halle Berry would have been a poor choice, she's an even worse actress than Lopez.
Charlize Theron might have been decent. Or Jamie Luner.

Megan Fox? are you serious? Megan Fox was only about 16 years old when this came out.... It would have been unbelievable and creepy, especially since Billy is about 27 years older than she is. I know I'd be creeped watching a grown man portraying a minor's husband....The majority of audiences and movie critics would have ripped this movie apart on the pure creepiness factor of it...

I know I'm probably going to get sh!t for saying this but I think Jennifer Lopez did a decent job of portraying Slim. I don't think Halle Barry or Charlize Theron would have been good choices for the role, IMO. As.the other poster said Megan Fox would have been .. what 14 or 15 at the time? So her playing Slim would have been downright creepy!
shareMore than decent, in my opinion -- I think Lopez was as good as anyone could expect of an actor in this role. It's her ability to be inviting, tender, damaged and tough that sells a very uneven film. She approached her role with real verve and probably, along with the film-makers, believed this film to be something more than the trashy, almost exploitation piece that it was. It wanted to convey a message about female empowerment, and to some extent does, but undoes this with the nature of its final act. Which, plot-holes and implausibilities aside, finds Lopez impressing with a complete rethink of what the movie represents. It doesn't work, and less so under scrutiny, but in the moment, it's involving and enjoyable.

Megan Fox?!? HAHAHAHAHAHA! She's an even WORSE actor than J-Lo. That you would put her in the same category of Halle Berry or Charlene Theron is beyond ludicrous. They're actual actors. Fox is a body and nothing more.
