So Mitch's friend put Gracie in danger? Rrrriiiight!

Wasn't it a little stupid that in the car chase scene Mitch's cop friend is ramming the back of Slim's car, at high speed might I add, while Mitch's daughter is in the car? Wow. He sure had consideration for his friend's daughter's life! Hmm how would he have explained that one to Mitch?

Stupid!

Well said. Just one more reason that this movie STINKS! There would be no way Mitch (who was so gung ho about getting his daughter back) would go for the cop friend continually ramming the back of the car she was in and especially with them going at a high rate of speed. Ridiculous to say the least!

No it wasn't stupid at all really.
This scene was to show how LITTLE Mitch really cared about his daughter.
He didn't love anyone except himself, he was a psychopath. Gracie was a possession, the same as Slim was.

He was willing to not only murder his daughter's mom, but do it RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER and not care a whit.

"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

Fiatlux-1 is right about Mitch and remember when Mitch break into Slim house and attack her next day and that Gracie see her daddy hurting her mom she run to him try to pull her dad off of her mom but Mitch grab Gracie shove her hard where she hit the floor so Mitch not really going to care if Robbie trying ram into Slim and Gracie during high speed chase
