Why not use brass knuckles?

The first thing that came to my mind was that if the cops find you with a bunch of ugly chunky rings that match the marks on the dead man's face, you can still plead self defense and horrible taste. Brass knuckles wouldn't be so easy to explain away.

If you look closely, after putting on the rings, she wraps her hands with black sports tape. The tape seemed to go in between the fingers (I assume for cushioning). This would have been more difficult to achieve with the brass knuckles, and easier to accomplish with individual rings, which allow more range of movement for each individual finger, rather than as a single unit with all of them inside the brass knuckles.

Also, I imagine that it would be easier to use the brass knuckles if all you are doing is hitting, but in her case she had to do quite a large range of different moves, not only to evade, but to move with more freedom while holding to the tubes in the stairs landing in order to move form the top floor to the bottom.

For some reason, I keep thinking that if I was in her place, I would rather have the chance to move with more freedom while at the same time, have the power to hit my target as hard as possible using any and every item at my disposal to do it as easily and with the least amount of restriction.

In the other hand, I would have been stupid enough to wear stiletto high heels just for the chance to stab him with a few well placed kicks, and we all know how practical are heels to do major ass kicking!! LOL!!
