She had NOT killed him at the end and just beat him to within an inch of his life. Wouldn't that have been enough? Bullies almost always back down when you successfully stand up to them and by then wouldn't he have lost so much face that it would be game over? She did NOT have to kill him and I think not killing him and making him live with his humiliation would have been the BETTER revenge. If I had been her after beating the tar out of him I would call the cops and he would be in prison for a VERY long time.

I agree! I mean, to be "realistic" if she did just do that then he would definitely kill her or have someone kill her. But honestly I wish they would have put a few more scenes of abuse in there cause I honestly don't think he did enough to where she would KILL him. I mean yes abuse is abuse and even one slap is too much but for her to KILL him?! That's ridiculous

She didn't care about REVENGE. It was about protecting herself and her child. It was her only option.

What I want to know is what if she went to jail for murder instead of self defense.

If she didn't kill him, he could have gotten her in trouble.

Her story was that she was there because they had planned to talk about custody of Gracie, setting it up by hiding custody papers in one of the drawers where he hides his weapons so his prints would be on them. Instead he attacked her and she fought back,killing him in self defense.

She broke several laws out of desperation in this case. She broke into his house with the intent to kill him. If she didn't kill him, she'd still have to face charges of attempted murder, trespassing and Breaking and entering.
