Stupid Hollywood screen writers sometimes over think stuff or create drama from stupidity.

That would take a very high IQ which I doubt slim or jlo have.

1. I dont care what anyone says trying to escape while her husband was home was very stupid. Just do it while he is at work or wait for him to go see his mistress. I seriously doubt he had someone watching her ALL the time while he was away. HIGHLY unlikely.
Well, Slim (and film time constraints) had to assume that crazy Mitch DID have someone watching her at least during the hours when he was at work.
And Mitch knew that she would be planning on leaving him & wouldn't 'forget' about it any time soon. He had a lot of money, so...


2. Why not transfer or withdraw your money from your current account to go to a secret account the day before you are supposed to leave your husband?? Did she really think he was just gonna let her spend his money after leaving him???
He probably locked up the money the very next day after he slapped her around.
He was stupid in a crazy sense, but not in THAT sense.

3. Instead of leaving him why not just plant a hidden camera somewhere in the home, piss him off again let him smack you around and let it be captured on camera then send it to the police and give another copy to your local news station?
What good would that really do? Yes the cops would arrest him. But what people fail to realize about domestic violence, even in my state where we have the Thurman Law, is that its STILL not viewed as a serious crime.
Even Slim knew this, as we see her ask the cop what happens if she pressed charges.
The cops can't do much, as a wife (or husband) is still not seen as a true victim....unlike if Mitch assaulted a stranger.

Slim was an idiot in a lot of ways, but she began by agreeing to have a kid with a man who she was only married for 5 minutes to!

She didn't even know if the marriage would work out, if she even liked being married to him (or he to her!) or if he would change after marriage.
That happens a lot!

And no one can tell me that Slim had NO signs at all that he was a psychopath!
He may not have struck her, but there are always....always signs.
She likely ignored or justified them, since she had been minus a dad & loved Mitch a lot.
