I didn't scream, but I was pretty choked up. Orlando gave such a fantastic performance, especially in his death scene, that I got really wrapped up in what Joe was going through at that time.

i agree with the above. i thought it was a top-notch death scene. all the poor boy wanted was a drink. the look on his face was heart wrenching.

I have to agree. I have to admit I cried when Joe died, even though I knew it was coming. I thought Orlando Bloom did a great job all through the movie, but that scene was just great.

Honestly the first thing I thought when Orlando's character was shot was..."Did he just get shot in the groin? I think he did. Oh damn that was his favorite part." He did a great job in the movie though.

His performance really was a breath of fresh air in terms of some of his other work. I really feel like he's going to become very very good one day.

I think I winced... and I definitely almost started bawling. I loved Orlando so much as Joe. He was soooo good. Not to mention incredibly sexy in the part.

reply

first off not i didn't scream...i thought he was an idiot to stand up in the first place...what did he think would happen??? secondly it never showed who shot joe it was just a bullet that came through the window....in fact it couldn't have been rush's character because ned shot him pretty bad earlier...

Oh well. It's not really that important. What mattered was the acting that happened in that scene. Mmm...it was so good.

I was so upset when Orlando was killed I loved him in the role of Joe Byrne and thought he did an awesome job.

I knew it was coming so I wasnt' too shocked.. We learn way too much Australian history in class. I mean he was in the metal plating so I don't think he thought he would die, but I can't remember if he did in the movie or not, but in real life he lifted the plate because he couldn't move his neck to take a drink and that is why he got shot in the groin.

I though the way Joe was portrayed was excellent. I especially liked the scene where he seduced the cleaning lady person, because he could speak cantonese and all and it made me crack up laughing.
