question
I liked this movie a lot. I read a bit about the real story on the net, but I wonder, did Naomi Watts' character really exist?
nice socks, man.....

Hi
that's a good question. I would like to know the answer, too. Unfortunately, I am an absolutely horrible researcher, so I would like to ask a question of my own:
What was the significance of the gold watch at the Stringybark Creek Killings? Also, the significance throughout the rest of the movie as well.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated
Cheers,
Backa
Naomi Watts' character -- it can be assumed that Ned Kelly had various relationships with women, but Julia is not based on anyone specifically.
The watch -- it has no real significance other than the fact that Ned feels guilty for taking it. In the original screenplay, there was a later scene where Ned and Steve have an argument about the watch, which directly precedes their escape through the fire, and Geoffrey Rush's character finding the watch in the ashes.
