After Heath Ledger's death I will feel sad watching this film because his performance was so strong.

I watched it for the first time last night; it was very difficult.

Hi, Lukeeeles ~
I'm not understanding your post. I don't see that anyone here posted spoilers about the movie.

Just wanted to say - prior to Heath's death, I was yet to see any of his work/movies. I run a business from my home and try to handle my 2 young ones at same time - so I feel as though I've lived in a virtual cave for the last 7-8 years and have only seen a handful of movies. But, Heath's star was rising, and I kept hearing oh so many great things about him. My husband was so excited about his upcoming role as the Joker. So, I was getting to the point of: well crap, I need to see something this guy is in - he must be something.

Then, I went on Perez on Tuesday, and got that lovely, God-awful gut punch upon reading the news.

So sad.

And so then, i REALLY had to finally see this guy in something. (and from every interview/piece of news I've read about Heath this week - the artist in me is completely intrigued by him - we apparently, have remarkably similar personalities. Passionate about our work - never settling for 'just good'. Minds that never stop whirling with ideas and evaluating life choices. Bouts of insomnia etc... (in my case, my passion is writing)

So, I rented Ned Kelly tonight.

Wow. If I thought Brad Pitt had sex appeal - he ain't nothin' compared to Heath. Still pictures of Heath DO NOT do him justice!!!

And his performance - just amazing.

BUT, if you think it's hard to watch the movie NOW, for those of you who had seen it before - it's very surreal, for the first moment when actually see an actor you've only seen in 'still' pictures before, come to life - at the same time knowing, their life just ended.....

Really wish I'd seen some of his work beforehand... he was amazingly talented.

ps, personally, the hardest scene in the movie, was the one where Ned is holding a little baby girl in his arms. His eyes just lit up/glowed as he held her. His passion for life just seeped.

I will find it hard to watch this film again too. Heath's performance was so strong. I dont think I'll be able to watch any of his work for a little while. I was going to rent Candy a few weeks ago. I wish I did 'cos I can't watch it now. I'll be thinking too much of Heath and not the movie.
