Question.

I've got a question. I'll start from the beginning.

I got an MP3 player for my christmas. It one of the ones that charges up using the USB port. The other day I was playing "Final Fantasy VIII" when I noticed that my PS2 has a USB port.

I remember watching a YouTube video a while ago where this guy was playin GTA 3. He was changing the radio station, and one of the stations was his MP3 player.

I don't know if he was using a PS2 pr a PC, but my question is: If I plug my MP3 player into my PS2's USB port, will I be able to listen tom the music from my MP3 on the games' radio station?

Unfortunately no, the PS2 version was developed first...with the later PC/Xbox versions using a slightly better engine that includes a custom radio station.

Doesn't really matter, I suppose. Just turn down the radio volume and turn on your stereo or MP3 player ;)

Yeah that's an alternative, but it would've been really cool to have a custom radio station. Do you know what the PS2's USB port is for?

Optional junk that consoles always end up peddling. On the PS2, they use it for the light gun, camera deal, external keyboard, etc...but also as a means of transferring files - since you can equip the older style PS2 with a HD. The fact that a HD is not stock in a PS2 (and impossible in the slimline) is likely to be the reason that the custom station option is not available even on subsequent games.

Thanks for the info.
