Did anyone else think that Rita was going to use Sam's ability to create complex origami to help him win the case? Now that I think about it, I guess any seven year old could learn origami but I was wondering why it showed up so much in the movie.

I don't know that the character of Sam is aware of this, but there is a legend that if you fold 1,000 cranes you will be granted one wish.
