can anyone make me understand the ending of the film?because i got confused after seeing this movie,
1. does rita marries sam?
2.when sam says that lucy always needed a mother,to her foster mother..what he meant at that moment?
i strongly doubt my first confusion...but can somebody clear the second one...
Don't take this as the answer - I have a habit of missing the point. My thoughts though...
1. I doubt it. Same does make the speech earlier that they should be friends, but Rita should still leave her husband (or similar).
2. I read into it that there would be many times when Lucy would need help, and he was asking for such help from the foster mother. She seemed to react as if she would be there. Almost as if the roles of Sam and the foster family were reversed. This is referenced in the closing scene when the foster family (as well as Rita and son) were there for Lucy's football (soccer) match.
Sam got custody of Lucy, Rita was a major part in both Sam and Lucy's life.
shareSam knew that he needed help to raise Lucy, it was so good that him and Randy were able to reconcile and put Lucy first. Many parents don't do that for their own kids and it shows how special Randy really was.
