A suggestion you might never hear, if you liked this.... 'Defendor'

I'll start off by saying, I couldn't finish this movie (I am Sam). I don't think it was bad, it was just too incredibly sappy for my own personal preference. I thought the performances were all good, even though Sean Penn was hamming it up a lot and Dakota Fanning was a little too "precocious". I just figured, I knew where it was going to end up, and I got a little bored.

I just finished watching "Defendor" with Woody Harrelson, and I loved it. I realized that that movie was completely mismarketed, though. It is labeled a "dark comedy", where really, it's no more a comedy than "I am Sam". It also tackles a similar theme as this movie. A mentally challenged man dons a home made costume and patrols the streets as a vigilante. I know it's a long shot, but I got the same type of emotional enjoyment out of Defendor, that I did out of I am Sam, I just happened to be more interested in the plot of the other.

So I would be curious to see what other people who have seen both thought of it. The message boards over there are full of people hating it because it's not "Kick-Ass", "Mystery Men", "The Specials", "Blankman"...Etc. I think they were just expecting something different from the marketing, and are completely misjudging it.
