Shouldn't the Laura Dern character offered to drive Sam home the first..

night he brought Lucy back home to them? He brings her back, is in his bathrobe, and it is the middle of the night. Shouldn't she at least offered to drive him back? She seemed like a decent enough person. Just saying...

Why did she look so annoyed at Sam all the time. I didn't like the frown she wore on her face. I mean she calls Lucy 'my daughter', but couldn't even be polite to Sam, the birth father of her foster/adopted daughter.

At that stage she didn't like Sam and wanted Lucy for herself. He brought the kid home in the middle of the night and she didn't thank him or anything, just snatched the kid back and sent him on his way. So there's no way she would've driven him back.

The character did change bye the end of the film though which is nice.
