what happened between annie and her dad? an what happeed when she was 28 (when she left the real world)?
shareI don't know. I haven't watched the whole movie in forever- so I can't remember if there were any clues in the movie. But,I always imagined some sort of abuse or molestation. But, it's a question that I always wonder about when I watch this movie.
"Perhaps we can learn a lesson from this tragedy like don't steal and don't be disturbed."
It is implied that Annie's father was abusive in some way. Sam says "Annie's father was a meanie."
People get agoraphobia (the fear of going outside) for all kinds of different reasons, or for no specific identifiable reason. It is not necessary to know if anything specific happened years ago that triggered her reclusiveness.

but what we can assume is that he abused her somehow, she almost cried when Turner mentioned him and she left after that
