Lilo and Stitch: Big Wave Edition

Coming to DVD March 24! Here's the link on the Disney site http://disneydvd.disney.go.com/lilo-stitch.html I can't wait to add this to my movie collection! Lilo & Stitch is my favorite Disney movie, so I'm super excited!

I'm keeping this up here until Heath Ledger wins the Oscar------>Why so serious?

I kept from buying L&S back in the fall of 2002, because I knew someday this would be out. This was released in several overseas markets.

It only took 7 years of patience. Though I found my copy on Saturday, as a Walmart I went to jumped the gun and put this and Bolt on the shelves early.

"Ridiculous, Lucky Captain Rabbit King. Lucky Captain Rabbit King nuggets are for the youth!"

reply

I got my DVD today! At Wal Mart!
I had herd it was out yesterday. This may be a goof, but cheek you wal mart and look on the Bolt display.

reply

that is so weird, because I got mine at walmart today too. I wonder if Disney knows about this....

reply

I wonder why it wasn't released in blu-ray.

reply

Maybe because it's pretty much the same as the Special Edition the UK got in 2005, and Disney felt that the US should finally get the extras they've been missing out on for over three years (unless you have a multi region player). In three years time, it'll be Lilo and Stitch's 10th Anniversary, maybe Disney will wait until then before they bring it out on Blu-ray.

OK sadly there is no chapter list card, and the discs are greatly lacking in label art.
But I suppose that would be a good thing if you can fined Chris Sanders and get him to drawl Lilo & Stitch on the discs.
Also I advise that if you have one, keep your old one disc copy. The new copy has a great deal more than the old but there are some tidbits of stuff in the short making of that are not in the long.
Also if you have a portable DVD player or a car DVD player you can keep you old copy in the car.

reply

Yeah, I'm so happy that the disc is finally out, and yet it's still missing these things that I never expected. No insert, no disc cover art. And Ultimate Disney suggests you just pawn your original disc, yeah right, that ain't happening.

Is there a commentary on this new edition?

reply

The UK edition does. I can't speak for the US edition but they both look identical so I imagine it does also have a commentary, even though I don't think one was listed on the back of the DVD.

reply

So does the US version. I took a risk and got it. I actually crossed my fingers while the menu came up!
