What is your favorite of the 'Goren shows' ?...

as Captain Sheridan called them at one time.

There are a lot of things a person can admire (and dislike) about Goren's character. One part of his character that I always enjoy is the show he will often put on. One of my favorites that show this is the episode in which he does the tango with a man with fourth stage cancer. He somehow gets dancing of some kind into several episodes. Remember when he was in a postal uniform and danced on a person's front steps?

Do you have a favorite? (dancing or not)

Who is Keyser Soze?

Here's another dancing one but I can't for the life of me come up with a name and I thought I'd wasted all my brain cells on LOCI trivia: the one where he gets info from the schizophrenic homeless guy by happily dancing and jumping and cavorting all over the interrogation room with him. That's a Goren Show! Someone answer-I might not sleep!

reply

I think that is "The Faithful", season 1, episode 4

reply

I don't remember the title, but that is the one that Captain Sheridan called 'the Goren show'. Good name for them, I would say.

I loved that one, it's so random and just comes out of nowhere, and makes no sense, because he looks like he's whacked out on medication or something, you never see a postal worker do anything like that, it's just so hilarious.

That was the episode with Corbin Bernson (I'm too lazy to look up the Season and Ep. title), and I laugh hysterically every time I see that little dance he does. It definitely makes no sense; all he does is shove some paper in the mail slot, and then the SWAT type guys break the door in.

There's another ep. in the first or second season where he dances with a suspect at a dance studio. She's a married, wallflower type being manipulated by a man who talks her into robbing banks and such. He seems like a good dancer.

"If that was a nod, nod."

reply

It's all that dancing he learned in "Naked Tango". Holy Moly!

reply

He was incredible in that. To this day his character of Colo is the only one I have ever seen who looks sexy with a toothpick in his mouth. lol

I know this post is old,but I am binge watching all the LnO CI episodes.

The reason why he does that is to get a close up look inside the house.

(Btw,he wasn't dressed up as a postal worker,he was made up to be a homeless type, dirty clothes ect.(

Seizure when he cuts his hand to bleed and the suspect freaks out. Same in Cuba Libre where he tries bringing the guy to the water and he freaks out.

And so Governor Devlin, because even the cost of freedom can be too high, I REFUSE your pardon!

I can't remember specific episodes right now, but I love that about Goren, too. He's so funny, & I saw the one where he was dressed like a postal worker recently & was laughing when he was doing that. I watch other episodes some, but I prefer the Goren & Eames episodes.

"That's all right-let's get you back to the hard land!" Too funny!

The best part of the crazy little mail carrier dance is the whiney whatever it is that he's singing. The combo is just so hysterical it's delicious.

Love that episode!

Not a dance, but when they are trying to find out who bought a pair of shoes for someone, and they were acting like a married couple, but him being quite foppish.

Actually any time they pretend to be married is pretty entertaining.

But the best is when he just goes berserk and she plays it straight and one that comes to mind is when he jumps on the counter in a pharmacy and the kid behind the counter is kind of shocke, and she waves it off...."Oh, don't worry, he always does that...." 

They play bad cop good cop good.

Another favorite was when Goren was trying to get a kid named Conny to confess and the kid up and slapped him and Goren, not missing a beat grabs the kids wrists and gets in his face and yells "Ouch!!!!!!" 

Swing away, Merrill....Merrill, swing away...

That episode is called "Anti-Thesis," it's about a college professor who is murdered. It's the first of the episodes with Olivia D'Abo in it.

I love the episode, its Season 1,where he insinuates that a perp has a small..'member' "I wear a size 13,you must wear a what, size 9?" "You also have small hands, you know what they say about that?"

Shawn_1967 - I love that one, too! I have watched the show off and on for a couple of years with my daughter when she's home from college. I just started binge watching them from Season 1. I can get Season 1 and also Season 5 to Season 10 on Amazon Prime Instant Videos. Do you know where I can get Seasons 2 through 4?

The one where he's dropping mail and doing the inspired song and dance is Season 5, Episode 3, "The Prisoner." I love Vincent D'Onofrio's physicality. He reminds me of Cary Grant or Dick Van Dyke in thee way he uses his body for comedic or dramatic effect. Most of you probably know, but he played Edgar, the man who was taken over by the bug alien in the first "Men In Black." He was also recently the best thing in the totally predictable "Jurassic World"

Well, I'm late to this party too, but I loves me some Bobby Goren. I love from the episode 'collective' when they're in the toy shop trying to track down the stolen Rorbit toy. The guy isn't cooperating and Goren grabs a toy gun and say something like 'hey! I remember this! It's 7 weapons in one!' And he starts shooting the toy gun all around the store knocking stuff over, until she the guy starts talking. But he isn't done till he's tried every weapon on the gun.

What's it going to be then, eh?
