Generally, no, though I missed the climax of Superman the Animated Series, so I didn't know that he had been under Darkseid's control, when Gen. Eiling mentions that, in the Cadmus Arc. I didn't see that episode until I got the dvd set of Superman TAS.
What was a bit frustrating, at first, was that they were ignoring things from Batman TAS and Superman TAS; then were referring to them. So, you had them ignoring that Superman had met Flash and Aquaman, then they are referring to Superman's battles with Darkseid. It was a minor irritant, though. I had read the comics long enough to be used to continuity inconsistencies and revamps; so, I just chalked it up to yet another new history. Continuity wasn't quite so tight in the 70s and even the early 80s.
Fortunately, Ah keep mah feathers numbered for just such an emergency!
