shareIt had a proper end. Timm and company were frustrated by the fact that all the other shows were cancelled without resolution so they made sure the season finales when renewal wasn't certain were fitting ends, especially season 4's "Epilogue" which was meant to bookend the entire DCAU as a Batman-centric tale. But yes, the fifth and final season has a really neat end, though for the League the fight goes on.
