wait...humans?

In at least two episodes (this and Unlimited), the writers have ALL of the "original 7" declared humans. Both Grodd episodes.

1) They're in Gorilla City. The apes refer to them as humans. In this episode, J'onn and Hawkgirl a CLEARLY not humans.

2) In an Unlimited episode, Grodd turns all "humans" into apes. Which evidently includes Superman?

Wonder Woman is in both episodes. One can speculate she's not human either since she was sculpted from clay and her entire "tribe" is immortal.

They're not apes. That's all that matters to the gorillas.

Yes, any humanoid who is not a gorilla turns into one. If I'm not mistaken, there was some magic involved with the transformation. Magic does not obey the criteria of taxonomy.

Let's be bad guys.

1) perhaps - but even if they can see WW as human even though she flies, Hawkgirl and J'onn are so clearly not human, you'd think the gorillas (supposedly superior and more intelligent than humans) wouldn't make such a mistake, even if xenophobic.

2) Grodd wrote a program to change DNA. Superman's DNA would be significantly different than a human's. This one I still call a neat gag, but couldn't work as Grodd directed.

It wasn't a mistake. The point was to make every sapient being into a gorilla. Even the aliens.

Wasn't Tala part of the plan? I believe magic was also involved. With magic, intent is more important than scientific accuracy. Hence, why Superman and Wonder Woman were also changed.
