What does Wonder Woman need with a invisible plane?

She can fly, can't she?
And isn't the plane transparent, not invisible?
And if she comes from a place where there is nothing but women, then where did she come from?
And why is she attracted Batman? And if she is, she could just beat him up if he says no to her. I can't even say no to my wife and I'm reasonable I could win in a fight with her. Thanfully that has never happened. But since I always give her want she wants, why would she fight me?

reply

In the comic books, she could only glide on air currents. She seems to have developed full flight powers over the years. I'm guessing she can only fly for short distances and would use the invisible jet for greater ones like crossing an ocean.

Queen Hippolyta, the queen of the Amazons, wanted a child and the goddess Athena told her to make a human baby out of clay. After Hippolyta did that, Athena breathed life into the baby, thus Diana was born.

Why SHOULDN'T she be attracted to Batman? Perhaps it's the fact that, even though he's a mere mortal (although, as Joker told Luthor, there's nothing mere about that mortal), he's hanging with the big guns and could probably take down some of them. Not to mention, obviously, he's a good-looking man. As to being able to beat him up, she could, but that wouldn't exactly do anything to enhance the relationship should one happen.

That's pre-Crisis. She's been able to fly under her own power, and across long distances, since the mid-80s.

reply

Actually, that was the post-Crisis explanation (though I believe a few seeds were planted in the WW comics a few years before the launch of Crisis). Pre-Crisis, she needed the plane.

The plane was brought back because people missed it, same as the reason many of the Superman elements that John Byrne dumped were brought back by later writers.

Yes, she can fly.

No, on JLU, the plane has a cloaking device that hides itself and the pilot. Plus, the plane's not just for her. She can bring others in case she needs back up.

If you're only with your wife because you're afraid of what she'd do to you, you have my pity.

Not all women are as insane as your wife is if you say no to them.

She likes Bruce because he's a good looking guy and she enjoys his company.

reply

Stop and think about what you just asked. Why would any warrior need a plane with a cloaking device.

reply

This is correct. Also, at least in the DCAU, she isn't as fast as Superman or Flash and can't cover the same distances they can so having a plane covers that. Also, she doesn't have laser vision like Superman so having a plane with weapons would be useful for anyone.

reply

Thanks for the knowledge. BTW, what kind of weapons is that aircraft packing?

BOO-YEAH!

reply

Boobytraps!

I'm hoping that question is rhetorical.

Well...the I.P. has a lavatory (bathroom) so it might be all about convenience...ya know, for over long trips.

Yeah, but does she wash her hands when she's done? ;D

Because chicks can't drive or fly things well. They're always running into things and having accidents. With an invisible plane you can't see the damage to it.

In the Fury episodes she chased down Ariesas jet bomber which had a 30 second head start.

reply

WW keeps her stuff in the jet(as seen in the Trinity comic series) Batman has the cave, Superman has the fortress, she has the jet.

reply

The plane is for times when she either doesn't feel like flying, especially long distances and for transporting others, some who cannot fly....Like Batman said, he hates being carried...In the DC animated movie Green Lantern, the Lanterns could have easily flown Hal Jordan in a green bubble to Oa, but they just made a green jet plane to make him comfortable.
