Superman in Cadmus arc

Not sure if this was intentional on the part of the creative team behind JL/JLU, but I found myself a little ill at ease or whatever with Superman during the Cadmus arc. The rest of the series' entirety, okay, he's the Big Blue Boy Scout and everybody's friend which was fine and enjoyable, but they managed - at least for me - to create the doubt of what really would happen should Luthor take office as he did in the Justice Lord's universe. There was this intimidating aura of, okay, is he really as good as we think? And you know good and well that he is, but there was still that lingering doubt - at least in my case. It made for very compelling viewing (part of what made the arc perhaps the best storyline I've ever watched in a TV program).

Anyone else have a similar experience?

Yeah, that was a great story arc. I felt the same uneasiness while watching Supes continuously walk into Luthor's traps. I felt especially bad for him when he publicly fought Captain Marvel and trashed the park. I kinda wished Cap. Marvel had a chance to redeem himself after trusting Luther over the JL team. I mean, he was just a kid, technically.
Sorry, I rambled lol. The Cadmus/Superman story arc ended strong too. The way Batman knew Supes had to make the decision himself to be different from the Justice Lords was a great touch and reinforces the notion that Batman knows the founding JL team probably better than they know themselves lol. Just overall great entertainment!

I think that was more Batman realizing that if they all stop Superman, then they'll never know. And Batman hates not knowing.

It's a great moment to see that for whatever reason, our Superman is the true blue Superman.

Seize the moment, 'cause tomorrow you might be dead.
