Can someone recommend films that have a brighter theme?

After watching this film by herself, my girlfriend has been feeling so depressed that she thinks her real life is worthless. I've not seen it myself so I can't comment if the film is good or bad, but the filmmakers surely know how to drive people's emotion.
I want to make my girlfriend feel better. She's easily influenced by emotional films, so I thought maybe I'll find her some other emotional films about females with a brighter or more encouraging theme. Could anyone make a few recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Try "Sophie's Choice" or "The Piano."

"You liked Rashomon."
"That's not how I remember it."

Well said...boy those flicks just make me wanna sing in the streets every time.

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked.

Or maybe "We need to talk about Kevin"...or "The Wrestler"

I heard those are good for that too....I haven't seen them, but Ebert has them in his top ten "feel good" films.

Get her "The Muppets" I watched it the night after I saw this depression fest and it really cheered me up and had me laughing out loud at the songs.
