The whole movie was about "hours" in a day regarding aspects of Virginnia Wolf. But the ending took place 19 years later?? Huh? We were led through a tiny part of 1923 and suddenly it was 1941 even though Ms. Wolf looked not a day older.

Woolf was 41 in 1923 and 59 in 1941... hence, Kidman looked older in the first scene of the movie (set in 1941)... relatively younger later (1923). Although in a post-victorian world as well, I don't think a woman's age mattered once she hit 40. A woman in her 40s may well look like a woman pushing 60.
