Can u guys recommend more mind-blowing movies based on women.
Not comedies like Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants, Sex and the City kinda stuff, or movies like The Reader, Revolutionary Road which are based on a couple.
But powerful dramas mainly focused on women like "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee".
It might also be described as being about a couple, but Far From Heaven is great, and I think more about Julianne Moore's character than Dennis Quaid's.
I don't know how you feel about Woody Allen, but he's made several dramas which primarily focus on female characters, of which my favourites are Another Woman and September.
I also really love All That Heaven Allows which is kind of a precursor to overt feminism in mainstream movies but tackles some of the same issues as the Laura Brown section of The Hours, as well as being part of the inspiration for Far From Heaven, which I reiterate is fantastic if you haven't already seen it.
"Reality is the new fiction they say, truth is truer these days, truth is man-made"
Far From Heaven sure looks promising and being a fan of Woody Allen's work, I've already seen most of his movies, but not these ones yet, so they are surely in my to-do list now.
The most powerful and feminine film I can think of off the top of my head is "Dolores Claiborne". It blew my mind when I first saw it. The premise is basically "men suck" with a little bit of lady power sprinkled in.
I would love to add to the list.... 3 Women with Sissy Spacek and Shelly Duvall. Very interesting movie. LOVED IT! Another movie was posted by another user called Far From Heaven. I agree! That's also a good movie to check out.
