Maybe it's not the absolute worst, but the kid who plays Richie (young Ed Harris) is so noticeably bad in his role. At every moment we know that this is a child actor reciting lines that were fed to him. It's never believable, his dialogue comes out very flat and wooden.
Anyone else have thoughts? He's a stinking adorable little boy, but looks aren't everything
Aww, bless his heart. I was thinking the same thing though. He did what they told him to do, but he didn't "sell" any of it. I also thought to myself, "This kid clearly got the job solely because he's so f'ing cute." I don't think I've ever seen a cuter child (and I hate children).
