pool in movies
There are the well known pool movies like 'The Hustler' and 'The Color of Money'.
Can someone please tell me if there are other movies in which pool plays a part?

Sure, there are a few:
Whoopi Goldberg did a fairly decent job in "Kiss Shot" in 1989.
"Io, Chiara e lo scuro," also known as "Pool Hustlers," (1982) is an Italian love story set around pool.
"The Last Time I Committed Suicide" (1997) doesn't focus as much on pool.
"The Baltimore Bullet" (1980) is all about hustling.
And I just watched "Stickmen," (2001) a Norwegian (sorry, New Zealand!) film that does a great job, just not as good as Poolhall Junkies.
Enjoy!
Stickmen is from New Zealand, not Norway.
But more on topic - I'm pretty sure theres a indy low budget movie about pool called "Running out"
Some of the ones you haven't mentioned are:
The Baron and the Kid - starring Johnny Cash
Chalk - which was a low budget and rather seedy film (Really hard to find)
A Game of Pool - This was a Twighlight Zone episode {I think it was like #5)
Peace!
Good luck finding "The Baron and the Kid" (dir Gary Nelson, a 1984 TV movie with a HUGE cast of well-knowns such as Tracy Pollen, Claude Akins, Shaft's Richard Roundtree, Dariren McGavin, and the great Mike Massey), "Running Out" (dir Byron Cepek, 2001) or "Chalk" (dir Rob Nillson, 1996). You'll have to look around for them. "Pool Hustlers" & "The Baltimore Bullet" are out of stock at Amazon, and the others aren't even listed. "Chalk" & "Running Out" don't even come up on Yahoo shopping. If anyone finds somewhere to buy these, PLEASE post them. The only ones I have are Kiss Shot (VHS), Poolhall Junkies, and (soon) Stickmen.
share"Poolhall Prophets," starring Freddie Prinze Jr, Ving Rhames, Vinnie Jones, and Sienna Guillory began filming in Feb 04 and is scheduled to be released in 04, but is probably way behind.
shareAnd knowing Freddie Prinze Jr, it's probably going to suck.

There are afew of the movies you mentioned which can be found, but they come and go... I know you can order chalk from the following website:

Looks like a great movie, but havn't got around to ordering it yet. Need to know if its really gona be worth it. I live in NZ and I love Stickmen, probably my favourite NZ movie, even though the pool in it isn't great, its good fun. Anyone looking for stickmen, I wouldn't mind sending copies - I'm not sure how much amazon charges, but a copy of stickmen over here is only $30NZ from the music stores. Still can't find the baltimore bullett anywhere, or the pool hustlers and I'm really after them. Kiss shot appears every once in awhile on Amazon and Ebay, as well as on Trademe (a NZ bidding site). Otherwise, I'm still hunting and looking forward to Poolhall Hustlers release in 2005. [email protected]

I'm sorry but that is kinda priceless. Not to poke fun or anything, but uh, isn't this one a bit superfluous if it doesn't focus on pool. I'm sure what you were trying to say was that pool is a driving element, but isn't focused on. this caught my eye thoguh and I wanted to point it out.
