Going against type

On thing about independent films is that they are not afraid to take risks. In this film they used established popular actors in the supporting roles and showcased unknowns as the leads. You have to hand it to them for their originality. I’m glad this film had happy ending,

I do have a question about the prologue scene that featured a young blond pool player before the film setting changes 15 years later. Am I to assume that the Christopher Walkin character was that young pool player from the prologue?

reply

No, Johnny, the main pool player was that boy. Did you watch the whole film? Not sure how you could miss that really, it set up the whole 'hustle' theme.

What lead me to believe that the prologue had something to do with Walken was much later on in the film when Walken and Johnny were talking at the party, Johnny picks up that Walken used to play pool.It was that and the fact that both the young pool player in the prologue and Walken both had blond hair. My two cents.

ok, except christopher walken had brown hair in this movie...

oh yes and the part where the movie clearly comfirms that johnny was the boy from the prologue. joe was his boss in the prolog, joe is older than johnny in both scenes. uncle mike is older than joe.

Ok so if the young character Joe in the prologue have blond hair, Why did older Joe have black hair?

reply

i said it was johnny as the kid, not joe, joe was played by the same guy. joe does show up in the prologue but it's the same actor from the whole movie. you know, joe comes in and gets pissed off at johnny for playing pool with the hustler.

and as people get older their hair darkens, this happened to my brother aswell as my best friend from highschool when i met her in grade 8 she was blonde and by the time we graduated she wasn't.

also, johnny's hair was brown when he was older, and what makes you think that just because johnny's hair wasn't blonde that the kid would be young Mike? because mike's hair wasn't blonde either. also, this is Joe's story, not mikes, so why would they have mike in the prologue?

anyways i'm through talking this over i've wasted enough time trying to explain this to you and if you are too stupid to understand then you can think whatever you want
