Universal sign for "cheque"?

In the scene where they're at Mel's, Danny says to Scarlet he'll train Lainie himself, then proceeds to tell her that "this is the universal sign for cheque." Scarlet then smacks his hand, like he did something perverted or something. I was just wondering, what the *beep* is the "universal sign for cheque" that he's talking about?

It wasn't cheque it was check. He was saying he wanted the check. He was just being sarcastic.

"Sure, mom, I settle down with a nice girl every night, then I'm free the next morning. "

the 'universal sign for cheque(or in US check)': when you are finished at a restaurant, if a waiter doesn't come over to you with the check/bill, you catch their eye and motion in the air like you are signing your name. It is universally understood that this means that you are finished and want the waiter to bring the bill so that you can pay and leave. When danny says that he can train lainie himself, he means that the only training that a waiter needs is to know the universal sign for check. not being perverted, just cocky.
