Buy a book, loads of them and much better to carry around with you.

I have been playing pool for more than 40 years, and you can count on one hand how many times I've seen people try trick shots. In the upper levels of pool, tricks are for kids. Except, of course, for those who play in trick shot tournements. Even then, if you notice, you see the same 4 guys every time.

I appreciate that you have played a lot of pool over the years but unless you have done so in a private room you have to have seen these guys in the pool hall thinking they are great players because they can set some balls up and execute one easy shot to pot six balls. Sadly pool is becoming a lost art and the appreciation and respect of the game is in the dumps these days. In short I would love to see a big budget Hollywood flick come out that show some class and respect along the lines of the hustler. Maybe make the youth of today realize that some class and talent, along with that sly arrogance, is a really great thing and bring some money back into the "sport". Well I suppose my 2 cents are up.

Like I said, Ftl, I simply have seen very few people do trick shots. They are for people who don't shoot pool; who are not "players". For the most part, those who do trick shots are akin to the guy who takes 15 minutes setting up a deck of cards for a "card trick". That's not a trick, that's mathematics. Same as most trick shots.

Didn't mean to imply any disrespect, I'm just passionate about my pool. I do agree with you on the trick shot thing. That's one of the things that turned me off about the movie PoolHall Junkies is that all these kids were out for the fast score and had no real respect for the game. I've done the hustle thing and I still do it on occasion to prove points but I really love straight up games. Enough rambling for my, I suppose that's it!!!
