Focus Features (Distributor) dropped the film

According to these articles: http://www.lasvegastribune.com/20041105/morenews44.html and http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hp&cf=prev&id=1808404585 Focus Features, the original distributor, dropped It's All About Love. Suggesting that it will premiere in the U.S. on either cable or video instead.

I hope this doesn't apply to Europe, and the film will still find its way to the theater. Soon!

Ok, apparently I overlooked that Strand Releasing http://www.strandreleasing.com/in_Theaters_Details.asp_Q_id_E_163 is releasing the film in a few cities.

But I was just wondering why Focus Features (distributor of Lost in translation, 21 gramms, Eternal sunshine...) dropped this film. I mean this film deserves a good distribution.

it played in new york and la last november but i haven't heard anything since. you can buy it on amazon uk but they're dvds are region 2 and ours are region 1 so it won't play on a us dvd player.

I know. No offense, but I read ALL about that when I was desperate to own "The Hole" on DVD.

The film was released on DVD in the UK last year, so if you're in Europe you could always buy that version (not sure what other countries the DVD has been released in). Personally, I didn't think the movie was that great (it did have its moments), but obviously there are a lot of people still waiting to see it, so getting it imported is probably the best option.

For those in the US, some multiregion DVD players are as cheap as regular players nowadays, so it'd be worth the investment. The knowledge that a movie you want to see has been on release in another country for months and you don't know when it'll hit your shores is pretty frustrating, isn't it? Know you know how it feels to live in the UK. ;) Well, not quite . . .
