This is sad.... Modern day Turkey is an amazing place...

It saddens me greatly that the Turks of the Ottoman Empire could have possibly committed such horrendous acts. I have known Armenians and Turks alike and they are both extraordinary folk. How can religion cause such a rift in people? It makes no sense...

I had the pleasure of visiting Turkey in the summer of 2010. Beautiful country with amazing history. It still is hard to believe that the Turks did something like this. Perhaps Ataturk (founder of Modern Turkey and creator of a secular government) wanted to change Turkey for the better so that nothing like this happened again!

We can only hope that this never happens again. We must know about genocide so that we can prevent it from happening. The film Ararat struck a chord deep within my soul.

Check out Lawrence of Arabia see how they depict the Turks in that movie.

I know a lot of Turkish people in the US, in Berlin and in turkey. When I was around them I found them to be wonderful people, funny. Plus they spoke better English then I do.

I think all people if they are left alone without being influenced by religion or politics are good.

But even good people can be swayed by outside influences.

I know only one Armenian he is a great guy and a talented musician. He is married to the American singer Bet Williams a very talented singer. She sang at my Grandsons baptism in Berlin, Germany three years ago.

Want to hear beautiful music check out their album called Epiffany Project. She sang the album in Armeian with Armeianan song writers.

Funny, one of the Songs Title is Ararat.

I have friends in many countries as a former player and soccer coach.

This movie now is on the starz network I will see it later today.

Also Charles Arnevoir is in this what a great French singer he is listen to his song "Yestarday when I was young". It's a great song.

==Nope.

The genocide started way before 1915 in minor attempts to wipe out people in villages. Sultan Hamid was a hater. By people, I mean christians (greeks, armenians, assyrians).
It slowly accelerated. Armenians were more than happy to collaborate with the "Young Turks" to get rid of the ottoman empire. Under the control of the ataturk, the genocide continued and the dream of uniting Turkey with its friends, such as Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Khazakistan, Uzbekistan, so turkish soldiers started to move eastwards and attacked the part of Armenian that was under Russian control.

Usual, when turks say it was war, they are referring to that part and also to World War I.
They are using World War I to cover up their ethnic cleansing policy.
