how did prot know the dog dosent hear so well on left side?

and when they examined his eyes bout UV light and that humans cant see that kind of light so is he human ummm no

IMO, I think Prot could understand the dog's barks and the dog was conveying as much to him.

Meanin they understood eachother.in 1st novel he said he could understand any animal

Maybe Prot was just very observant and noticed that the dog was more prone to react to sounds on the right side. Maybe he was like the dude from "Psych" and had a knack for noticing details that most people would almost always miss.

Well Speed it is proved Prot was a Alien if you read rest of Novels and there are some thing he couldnt possibley had known in film version that human would even though he was in a humans body

i like to believe this is just a trick for the kids, because i cant imagine a dog having the intellect to express itself in such detail :)

also the UV thing could be the result of a minor, mentally induced, physical enhancement of that body's perception.
