Great Film, Great Screenplay

I recall watching this on a flight from London to Cancun in 2002. Those airplane screens don't do much to enhance the cinematic experience, but I recall being quite taken back by the film and thinking about it for a few days after.

I watched it this evening for the first time since 2002, this time on Blu Ray.I enjoyed it so much I had to come here and scribble something.

So, was Prot a man who suffered extreme trauma, leading to him living part of his life as Robert Porter in a catatonic state, but with occasional escapes to reality as Prot, therby partitioning off his previous trauma?

I'd like to believe he was from K-PAX and that Mark eventually is able to help Robert, who is left behind.

Great film, great story and wonderful acting, especially by Kevin Spacey.

This also is my second time watching this movie, and I understood everything much better than before. I was so happy to see him with his son at the end. The more I see a Kevin Spacey movie, I like him more. This one made me cry.

I really liked this when I first saw it. So, when I noticed it was on Film4 the other week, I set the recorder... Settled down and watched it last night and it was just as good as I'd remembered... Intelligently written, with excellent performances from the actors... Moments of gentle humour. But, it also manages to convey something of the horrible trauma Robert suffered... And, the ending sort of allows the viewer to decide who prot really was and shows a lot of respect for the audience.
