but then he says his friend got married and they came here, something like that i cant remember the exact quote. Did anyone else catch that just wanted to clarify if i misunderstood the line

His friend who he met on earth got married. It was a human.

That is your interpretation, of course. It might be that during the hypnosis Prot's and Robert's both minds are awakened, that's why one minute he is in K-Pax, next he is with Robert.

Nope, that wasn't him. That was Robert, and Prot does not need a physical body in order to exist. He took Robert's body after he attempted a suicide, to find someone who can take care of catatonic Robert.
