The purpose of curing Doris

Doris never left her room. One of the tasks Prote gave Howie about the bluebird, cured doris, and made her come out of the room. When the doctor was running towards prote, he ran into Doris which made him miss whatever happened to Prote in his room when he went comatose. Was this part of Prote's plan and part of the reason he cured doris by giving the bluebird task to Howie, so that the doctor couldn't interfere with his travels?

If you look at Prot as an alien then yes you could say that Prot could think ahead and grandmaster his travel plans to not be interupted when he was returning to K-PAX.

If you look at Prot as a creation of Robert to cope with the loss of his wife and daughter as i do then no Doris leaving her room and blocking Marks path was only coincidental.
