PROT, is he or not? (Spoilers.)

This one of my favorite movies to re-watch. Which I just did again, 14 years after my first viewing.

I also took the time to look over the many pages of discussion threads. By far the most common is whether Prot really is an alien from K-PAX or is he just Porter trying to fool everyone into thinking he is an alien?

To me, and I believe most others, it is very clear that Prot really is the Kpaxian that he represents himself to be, and everything he says is true, within the fictional world of this story.

So my real question regards all the others, those viewers who, often by forcing square pegs into round holes, make sometimes elaborate cases for denying that Prot is an alien from K-PAX. Much like the scientists at 40 minutes in when Prot displays knowledge of the star system. Human nature to deny what we can't understand or explain.

So, to anyone who still denies Prot and K-PAX, I ask "Why?" Is it because you don't accept the fictional universe and just don't want to accept an alien? Or is it some other reason?

Yes he is an alien at least i believe he is.

the science test proves this. heck in 2001 when this movie came out and in that world in the movie we knew very very little about exoplanets. yet this guy? could map a star system like that? let alone no one being able to see it on earth? i really never doubted it

bigger question would be how many people like this could be in the world right now? yeah they are crazy to us but actually they aren't

When he was tested he was able to detect light spectrum that the human cannot see. That answered the question for me right there.

He most definately is, if you watch the movie closely it's obvious
