What has happened to the Buddy Cop Comedy?

Starsky and Hutch, National Security, and Rush hour are the latest big ones I can think of and none of them have been too good. Rush Hour was nice for awhile, but now it's just ridicurous, and not in a good way. It seemed like in the 1980s, you couldn't go two weeks without another Buddy Cop/Detective Comedy being made, and then all of a sudden they kind of dried up. Is it simply because popular flavors have changed? Or at least, Buddy Cop film, not even necessarily a comedy. I know Righteous Kill with DeNiro and Pacino is coming out and it looks good, but still feels so seldom anymore.

it's seldom because it was so way overdone, 80's 90's that people got sick of buddy cop movies.. and yeah times have changed and tastes haved moved in a different direction.
