Jian saw the police beat that man to death in the kitchen. So why was he surprised when they killed the druglord later? Didn't he already think they were bad?

I don't think he was expecting it to happen how it did,he just thought they were normal hoars I guess,then he quickly had 2 spring into action to try to protect him.

i know this i really random but will you please tell me who dies in this movie, its got me all confused, i havent actually seen it!! its never on tv so i cant see it!!
